Preparing for Your First Crypto Prop Challenge
First: is this the right product for you?
An evaluation suits a trader who already has a method they can describe, execute repeatedly and size deliberately. It suits scaling an approach that already works at small size. It does not teach you to trade, it will not fix an untested strategy, and it will not substitute for screen time.
- You can state your entry, exit, stop placement and position-size rule without improvising.
- You have traded the method for long enough to have seen it lose several times in a row.
- You can afford the fee to be lost entirely. It is a non-refundable participation fee.
- You are comfortable trading to someone elseโs risk limits, not only your own.
The honest downside
The fee is at risk from the moment you start trading. Nothing in a preparation guide โ including this one โ improves your probability of passing in a way anyone can quantify, and no firm can promise that you will pass or be funded.
Understand the rules before the configuration
Choosing a configuration you can actually trade
Working a configuration backwards
Illustrative only โ the figures below are an example of the reasoning, not a recommended setting.
- Your method risks about 0.75% per trade and occasionally takes three losses in a day.
- Worst realistic day โ 2.25% plus costs โ so a 3% daily allowance leaves almost no margin, and a larger allowance is worth considering.
- Your method has historically strung together six to ten losses in a poor stretch โ 5โ6% โ so a total drawdown floor set 6% below the initial balance would be uncomfortably tight.
- Only after those two numbers work should you look at target, leverage and price.
Check your own historical sequences rather than these numbers. Assumption: risk per trade is measured to the stop, and costs are additional.
Practise the mechanics, not just the strategy
The first week
- Trade smaller than your allowance permits while you confirm the environment behaves as you expect.
- Check remaining daily allowance before sizing, not after entering.
- Stop for the day well before the allowance is exhausted โ the limit is a failure threshold, not a target.
- Log every trade. You will need the record more than you expect.
- Remember there is no deadline: waiting for your setup costs nothing.
If it goes wrong
A failed Challenge ends with the fee spent. A free retry is available where realized profit reached at least 5% at some point before failure โ one retry per purchase, same configuration and account size, excluded for purchases made with a discount, coupon or promotion, and subject to the published abuse provisions. If you disagree with a determination, the Complaints Procedure is published rather than discretionary.
Configure a Challenge with your own parameters
Account size, maximum total drawdown, maximum daily loss, profit target, leverage and performance split are selected in the Challenge Builder, which shows the exact price of the configuration you assemble before checkout.
